There's a certain quiet that happens when you're focused on mixing the right shade of purple. It’s a kind of presence that's hard to find anywhere else.
Watercolor truly has a mind of its own, and learning to work with it (instead of fighting it) is half the fun. Guests leave feeling recharged, a little surprised by what they made, and already thinking about the next one.
Here's a look at a few of the workshops we've hosted so far:
Patagonia in Technicolor
Inspired by the vibrant color palette of the Patagonian landscape, this workshop pushed everyone to loosen up and paint with bold, saturated color instead of playing it safe. This session gave participants permission to be a little wild and paint in bold, loud color without worrying about “getting it, right.” This group had a lot of laughs and learned to see what happens when you let the water and pigment do the heavy lifting. From “I can’t do that!” to “Wow, I DID that!” this workshop was an approachable and low-pressure way for people to try something new and walk away with a painting filled with good memories with their friends.
Cascadia Lavender Forever
A love letter to the lavender fields of the Pacific Northwest, this session walked participants through layering soft purples and greens to build depth and texture, one wash at a time. We broke the painting into simple, guided stages, with enough space to play and experiment with colors and techniques. This group embraced the fun of color mixing, layering textures, and even some messy and cathartic paint splattering. Each person walked away with a painting that was as unique as they are!
A Sweet Beginning
Apple blossoms and a curious little bumblebee, painted just as the seasons were starting to turn. This workshop leaned into new beginnings, both artistic and personal, and became one of our most heartfelt sessions yet. Participants worked on soft petal blending contrasted with inky line work, a neon color palette with a build-your-own free space to encourage creative mixes, and left with a piece that felt both delicate and full of life.
